OFFERS TO THE PACHA MAMA
Itinerary
According to the Andean vision of the cosmos, the whole universe is alive and interacts with us and this is considered as a way to harmonize and balance our energy. With these offerings we thank the Pacha Mama because it continues to generate life, it’s the way we are grateful for all the good things that are in us and around us.
During these rituals you can also ask for health, work, prosperity and security, uniting three coca leaves (“cinta”) that Mother Earth offers us and that we, in our turn, offer to the “Apus” (Protector spirits who live in the higher mountains).
In the logic of the Andean pay, “pagos” are a way to thank the spirits connected to Nature, to the goodness and benefits related to them. The offers which are buried in the Mother Earth include coca leaves (mediating between Nature and humans), some varieties of cereal seeds, rough silver, “sullus” (llama or sheep foetuses), chicha (a drink made with corn), wine, animal fat, sweets and “huairuros” (red-blacks seeds with magical and symbolic powers). Ritual elements are offered to our grandparents, “nuestros abuelos”, the “Apus” (Sacred Spirits of the Mountains seen as our grandparents) to Wak’as, Wamanis, Aukis, to Q’ochas, to the Pacha Mama, to the Creator God Pachakamaq and all the holy beings with whom we share the universe.
These offers are processed by shamans initiated to these ancient traditions, the famous “curandero”. An ancient wisdom that our brothers and sisters of the most remote and known villages as Q’eros, Ausangate and Wasao, have maintained and now can share with us. The ritual is performed in the proximity of the city and will have a duration of 4 hours.
